Behind The Scenes: Color

Make It Good prides itself on offering a line of apparel that’s fun, wearable, and colorful. When it comes to choosing colors, the process for Make It Good is a little different than our sister company, Nell & Mary. Oftentimes the color in the Make It Good line comes from the fabric rather than the ink.

At the start of designing a new season, Leah and Krista sit down and discuss the direction of the color stories. They’re usually freakily in sync with each other, (It helps that they’re sisters) and actually find that color is one of the easiest things to approach in the process.

Make It Good is structured around neutrals: White or cream, grey, black, blue, and a few statement colors. If you take a look at the FW14 line you can see that rust is one of the statement colors. For SS15 we are excited to be introducing pops of coral and dusty purple.
